Sonadia the new attraction of Coxsbazar

Why not Sonadia Island ? if you want to visit cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh 


There are nine Islands which are available in Bangladesh that you can visit. Sonadia is one of them. This is the small Island of Bangladesh and it is located in the 9 sq. km offshore of the longest sea beach Cox’s Bazar and it is also in the southern part of the country Bangladesh. There is a rich biodiversity which is located in Sonadia Island.

This island has it’s pristine sandy beach, mudflats, near shore sandbars, high dunes and mangrove formations which are unique formation that creates development of the side and also can attracts its tourist. This is also important place for its habitat endangered sea tortiles and wintering ‎shorebirds. In 1999 for migratory birds keeping Sonadia is ‎considered as ecologically important place for migratory birds by the government of Bangladesh and also declared as ‎an Ecologically Critical Area (ECA) under Environmental Act of 1995. ‎ Special Attractions of Sonadia Island:

4. Boating How to reach Sonadia Island: At first you have to go Cox’s Bazar. Then ride speed boat To go Sonadia Island from Kastura Ghat. In that Ghat speed boats are always available for ride and every 10 minutes interval one speed boat starts for Sonadia Island. Normally it takes 30 to 40 minutes from Kashtura Ghat to Sonadia and also same time needs to reach from Sonadia to Kashtura Ghat. Per man it needs 25-30 TK. for riding the speed boat as well.

Where to sleep and have food at Sonadia: There is no any place to sleep at Sonadia and also any hotel for have food. Only dry foods you have to carry with you including drinking water. Now question is to you, why not Sonadia Island if you want to visit Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh.
