There are several Buddhist Temples in cox’s Bazar. The main shrine is near the popular Burmese Market of the town. It is called the Aggamedda Khyang, which elevation and decoration are like Arakanese style. The main sanctuary is built on a series of timber columns. Several bronze sculptures of the great Buddha attract the visitors. The monks are solemn in character. When you will arrive at this holy place, they will accept you cordially, will show and demonstrate the elements of Khyang with great delight. You will have a very positive image in mind about them. But when they will claim money in different sections of the temple for guiding, your feeling may decrease a bit!
